The International Welcome Café is a brand new project run by Acts Trust and Alive Church, Lincoln.
A team of experienced ESOL teachers (English for Speakers of Other Languages) who ran extremely successful ESOL classes before the covid pandemic are running it. Unable to continue the English classes because of various pressures, they still wanted to help the international community living in and around Lincoln, so took the decision to start an International Welcome Café instead.
It is for anyone who has come to England from another country, either to work or as a refugee or asylum seeker.
Babies and small children are welcome and there will be toys for them to play with
Drinks and home made cakes are FREE, and we meet at:
Place: Alive Church, Lincoln
Day: Thursdays in school term time
Time: 1pm – 3pm
Start Date: 15th September 2022
At the café, people will be able to:
· Practice speaking English in a safe place
· Have fun with games designed to help improve English speaking
· Help their children learn some simple English
· Learn more about living in England
